Frequently Asked Questions

Please make special note of parking and location information and please no high heel shoes!

Q: Where do I park?
A: The SS American Victory is located at a working dock behind the Florida Aquarium. There is extremely limited parking, so we recommend you park in the Channelside Parking Garage directly across Channelside Drive from the Aquarium. Parking is $1 per 1/2 hour and more during special events. Please visit Park.Me for parking options, current parking conditions and pricing.

Q: How do I get there from the parking garage?
A: Once parked, exit onto Channelside Drive and cross the street to the Florida Aquarium. Follow the path to the left of the Aquarium and around back. The dock is at the end of the road to the left of the Aquarium building.

Q: Is there a dress code?
A: Yes. We appreciate when our guests are in the Halloween spirit, but for safety and security reasons, no costumes or masks please. This attraction is aboard a WWII-era ship. You will be climbing stairs and ladders and moving through doorways across high thresholds. You will be walking across open decks, which could be wet. For this reason, you should wear closed-toe shoes. Flip-flops and sandals are not recommended and high-heels are a no-no.

Q: Are weapons allowed?
A: Seriously? No!

Q: Is it scary?
A: That’s our goal. We aim to scare and entertain all of our guests. There are some elements of simulated violence and gore.

Q: Is it too scary for my children?
A: There are 8-year-olds who can handle this type of entertainment and there are 38-year-olds who cannot. We recommend ages 12 and up, but you know your children better than anyone else. Please use your best judgement.

Q: What if I get too scared?
A: If you get too scared, alert one of our staff that you wish to leave, and we will escort you out. There are no refunds if you choose to leave the attraction for any reason.

Q: What if it rains?
A: We are open even if it rains. Part of the attraction is exposed to the elements, so you may get wet. During extreme weather, like lightning or extremely high winds, we will close the attraction until the weather clears.

Q: May I take photos and video?
A: You may take as many pictures and videos as you like outside of the ship and in the queue area. Once inside the attraction, we ask that you not take any photos or recordings of any type. Also, no flashlights or lights.

Other Important Information:

We use fog, strobe lights, lasers, loud noises and music. If you are sensitive to any of these elements, you are advised to not enter the attraction.

There is no smoking, or open flame allowed anywhere on the ship.

We reserve the right to refuse admittance to anyone. If you are intoxicated, belligerent, or pose a threat to any of our staff or other guests, you will not be allowed in the attraction and/or will be removed from the premises
